Network Marketing Prospects

Every single day we are speaking to network marketing prospects about our primary business. We accomplish this by phone or email.  

Are you doing the same thing?  Getting a little tired with all the excuses these people have?

One of my favorite lines when I speak to network marketing prospects is: "how much money are you short"--this is in response to them telling you they don't have enough money to join. Do you ever get this, or am I the only one in the network marketing industry to hear this line?

 

Alright, I know what you are going to say because we hear this from networkers across the country. During our coaching sessions mlm'ers are always asking me how to handle these two objections.

1.  What do you say to a network marketing prospect when they tell you they don't have enough money?

2.  What do you say to a network marketing prospect when they tell you they don't have enough time?

I bet you have run across mlm prospects that you really like but couldn't get them to join with you, right?  What can be done with these people?

Personally we are giving these mlm prospects a choice now.  What we are about to share with you is not endorsed by any network marketing coach that we are aware of.  We hesitate to share this with you because we don't want the entire industry to come down on us, but we can't let good people go anymore.

It all started back in May of 2004.  After a coaching session with group members, a friend of mine asked me "what I do when a network marketing prospect likes me but not the company".

I gave him the normal response of:  "I keep them in the follow up pipeline and wait on them, however I told him to ask me this exact same question in about 3 months or the end of the summer.  I had something up my sleeve.

What I had up my sleeve was a passive approach which we sometimes call the "back door" method.

It all centers around a mlm feeder program. My theory behind this is very simple.  I want to sponsor as many people as I can into this industry.  I don't want to lose them to someone else because they have some slick little program that usually lasts 3 months and is gone.  I have another friend that started a feeder business back in November of 2001 and it was going really well for him and his members.  Not only that, I have several other network marketing buddies that are working their feeder business full time.  I don't do that, instead I worked it passively during the summer months. And this is what I did.

Each network marketing prospect that told me they don't have money or time was sent to this site. I didn't do anything except create a follow up campaign. Out of the first 10 network marketing prospects who went to this site filled out the form, 2 of them became members in 3 days. One more prospect signed up after the 4th message. (NOTE: this didn't happen in one day. I had to continue to follow up with my leads for my primary business or they would not have been sent to this site. It took about 35 mlm prospects to find 10 who gave me the excuse of time/money.)

I'm sure you have reviewed the sites above and have some of the same thoughts I had.  Feel free to email me your thoughts and let's see how close you and I think together.  The bottom line cannot be ignored.  Since that time I now receive over $300 in products from 3 different companies and all three send me another commission check.  This was something I never envisioned when I started this, but I am a big believer in this philosophy now.

From time to time I speak to the network marketing prospects who are seriously building their new feeder business.  Each of them tell me the same thing. "I like you Bob, but I just didn't have the kind of money or time you were looking for with your primary business.  When you sent me the link to FIG I couldn't believe you would be that kind to share something that fits my needs and purpose at this time".

NOTE: not a single one of these original network marketing prospects has joined my primary business to date.

What is the lesson to be learned?  For me it's been: never give up on a lead, regardless of their excuse.  And now that these people are in my follow up campaigns, I get to drip on them every month.  I send them some type of inspirational story with a link to join the feeder program in each message.  

Now, that I have complete confidence in this approach I am teaching several personally sponsored members how to do the same thing.  These people are also noticing a 30% increase in their closing rate.  Not in their primary, but in the network marketing industry and that is EXCITING.
